Happy Birthday G!

G celebrated his birthday at school with Brownies on a Stick .....It was April's Fool's day so the class had on silly hats to trick their teacher......Then Saturday G celebrated with a NERF WAR party with 5 of his friends.

We started the day out with doing Mento's/Diet Coke Fountains .... Then it was off to the basement for several hours of NERF WARS......

There was NERF Target Practice ......

Scary Scary Scary moment for W

I've always told W that he is just like me! I always knew it was scary that this could actually be true. What 19 year old boy wants to think he's just like his mother?!?!?

Today it was proved. G and I had gone to get birthday cards for Hubby's birthday, while W went later on his own. Out of all the birthday cards we could have picked ......

We picked the same card!

Donkey Baseball game and my Birthday

46 years ago last night the little town I grew up in had a Donkey baseball game! My parents, and my Big Bro went along with everyone else in town. It was a big deal in our little town.

What you don't know what a Donkey Baseball game is? It where you ride Donkeys while you play baseball! Nothing too hard about that, huh? I don't know I wasn't there... YET!

My mom was having pains all throughout the game, she was in the bleachers, not playing (What were thinking!!?). Enough pains that my parents decided to leave the event early. They left my Big Bro with a neighbor, Beverly. Arrived at the hospital around midnight and a couple of hours later I arrived! 46 years ago today!

I guess you could say that followed the asses into town!

Happy 10th Birthday!

After baking G's Chocolate chip birthday cookies

all morning I finally got to deliver them to him.....

He handed them out to his class on a silver platter!

I gathered the Birthday boy and his friends afterschool

and we headed to the movies

"How to Train your Dragon"

They talked so much and so loud before the movie and through the previews

that I was afraid we'd be thrown out.

Once the movie started I didn't hear a peep out of any of them.
We all give the movie 2 thumbs up!

Excellent Movie

Then we headed to the Pizza Buffet.

Finally we make it home

and wait for hubby, W and Megan to get there

for the Birthday cookies and opening cards/presents.

Saturday afternoon W and his friend Chris took G for an afternoon of Putt Putt golf.
This is G's version of the John Wall dance .

Just between you and me, be glad you're not seeing a video of G's version. It makes Elaine's Dance (off of Seinfeld) look wonderful! Maybe I'll have to sneak a video of G and share it.

Good bye Single Digits

Today is that last day someone in our family is a Single Digit!

This boy has been so wise beyond his years that

I don't think he's been a single digit mentally since he was ......maybe 2.

We recently got the results of his reading tests.

He reads at a 11.8 grade level and reads instructionally at a 10.8 grade level.

He loves Math, He's a super speller, homework is an anoyance and he believes if he could just get everyone to listen he COULD rule the world!

Granny and Gr'pa made Doll Houses for years.

this is her doll house, she's had it for years

and collected the furniture when she'd travel the country.

when W was little he would go and look at this doll house for hours

Today, he went and found the things that were new,

he also found the things he use to play with, 2 little kittens, and a black car.

I've already taken this places and gotten quite a few compliments!

Wii Resort!

My boys also took me out for a late lunch at a place that I've been wanting to go.

We had WAY TOO much food, but it was good.

the boys tried to have a "YES, MOM" day.

It was almost funny to see them shut off the arguing!

When we finished lunch W took G home.

I think it was funny, they weren't getting along at lunch but when W found out I was going to Kohl's to return things, he told G he could ride home with him.

I think it was more of a "I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Kohl's with Mom" sort of thing!

They were very anxious for me to get home since they hadn't given me the Wii Resort yet and I told them that they couldn't open or play anything they got for me until I got home!

We played, had fun and then they both went off and I got a very quiet home ~ Pure silence!

Fun Friday

The day started out with everyone going their seperate ways. W and J(his girlfriend) used our Coterie Children's Theater tickets to go see a play. G and I went into our little town for G's final day of his "Surf's Up" class.

We then met up to celebrate J's birthday (which was last Wednesday). She wanted for us to go bowling for W's birthday but W didn't really want to so we never got to it. Today we (G, W and I) took her bowling and then miniature golfing. The girl smoked us in bowling ~ she kept saying she wasn't very good but she was MUCH better than us! J came in first with 130!, then G, W and ME! I'm either a gutter girl or a strike girl not much in between.

Just how can this be?

Then the kids took a couple turns on "The Vault". This is a timed game where you try to work your way through a hall of light sensors. Oh, I can't describe it well, it's like a mission impossible thing. There are green beams that you have to climb over and under to get to the other end. You know what I mean. Well, out bunch weren't so great at this. I believe G used his "smallness" to the best of his benefit and had the best time of our bunch.

Then we moved on to Miniature golf. G got a lesson from big brother W on how to hold the putter. This proved a difficult feat for all involved (and yes, all of were involved before it was over) since G is left handed and all of us are right handed.

We had a great afternoon.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

On the morning that W was born I checked him over as any new mother would do. When I got to his foot I measured it with my finger. His tiny little foot from the tip of his big toe to the his heel was the length of my middle finger. That was 17 years ago this morning and my my how things have changed!

Things are in high speed around here, mostly for me.

Today is G's birthday!

Knowing all the things that needed to get done in these couple of days we started Birthday celebrations a couple of days ago. Last night we went out for Birthday supper, G picked Applebees. He thought of other places but weren't sure that they'd sing to him at the others and he KNEW they would sing to him at Applebees. It was sweet how that is exactly what he wanted but his cheeks were still bright red as they were singing to him. Grandpa and Mimi met us to help celebrate!

Today we'll end the official Birthday festivities with taking Chocolate Chip cookies (his favorites) to G's class.

Tomorrow we head off to the Windy city.......
