Friday night Drive in Movie ~ Rango

Horrible kid movie!
Has a matter of fact I don't think it really was a kid movie!
It was littered with mild profane words (you know mild ones, not the biggies that kids KNOW are wrong but the ones they'd hear in Walmart but not at home). And by littered I mean a DUMP (ALL THE TIME!)
It had a sprinkle of adult humor that kids won't get but as an adult I thought was crude!
It had some slap stick comedy which make the kids laugh (everyone laughed)
Fortunately for me, G didn't like it at all!

AND for our Drive in experience ... I took a lawn chair and G took a blanket. He wanted to sit in the back of SUV, but ended up sitting on the blanket on the ground! After 3 weeks of the drive in we're finally getting the hang of it!

Late night in Rio

After such great success with the Drive in last week, we attempted it again.

This time just G and I.

Since it was the just the 2 of us, we parked frontward and sat in the comfy car seats. Yeah, it sounded like a great idea until we started fogging up the windows. We had the windows down already, even though the weather was chilly. So we started wiping down the front window until the condensation started on the outside. We were parked forward with our big SUV lights pointed right into some little car's back window, not a real big deal until I needed to turn the car on ..... and lights automatically come on! I didn't want to blind the people in front of us so G just hung his head out the window for the last 20 minutes of the movie. I think I can watch the last 20 minutes of the movie and swear I've never seen it... .I've heard it but I couldn't see it.

I think we're going to try it again next week ... It's a good thing! Surely we'll get the process right before the end of summer!

Last weekend we watched

The Blind Side

Yes, we were the last people on earth to see this movie!

Hubby watched it first, then said he thought G could watch it with both of us.

We settled in to watch the movie, when G got upset at Big Mike's life. Upset to the point that he cried and cried. We tried to console him by telling him how it ends, and how Big Mike over comes all of his trials. We promised him that we'd watch the movie again as a family the next day so he could watch Big Mike's good life emerge. He wanted nothing to do with it! He was upset.

Just when I think I know this child, he is all surprise.
