Wordless Wednesday ~ The "Hey There" head bob

I know the still picture can't do the
"Hey there" head bob justice but
it just cracks me up when he does it!

We were waiting on a pizza, he'd decided
to go outside and listen to his tunes
while we waited. When he turned to see if
I was still there that's when it happened....

The "Hey There" Head Bob!

This boy is an ole soul!
That's the nice way of putting
he's an old man in an 11 year old body!

words from G

A few weeks ago, G and I were puttering around Target when we found ourselves in the shoe section (much to my delight and his dismay).

I reached for a pair a HIGH heeled black pumps (not your 45 year old high pumps but your 20 year old HIGH pumps) as a dropped them to the floor and prepared to try them on .....

G says ... "Are you sure you can wear those?"
Me ~ "of course I can wear these"

I was struggling to get them all situated so I can slip my feet into them while G is watching with great interest.

G ~ "I've just never seen you wear high heels"
Me ~ "I wear high heel to church every week"
G ~ "not like these high heels"

I now have them on and attempt to walk in them .... after taking a step or two...I take them off. Realizing that it requires a whole new posture for this 45 year old to wear 20 year shoes! I just can't lean that far forward when I walk!

G still watching "What's wrong Mom?"
Me ~ "I can't wear these"
G ~ turning away "I didn't think so"

The boy

Today G brought home the pre registration packet for school next year. Yes, it seems early but it really saves time in the fall!

I was flipping through the papers when I saw the school supply list and mentioned to G that he'd be in 5th grade. I believe my exact words were "WOW, G you're going to be in 5th grade!"

He quickly replied, "I am? How do they know that already? Mom, the school year's not over yet!"

This boy has never gotten the concept in that he will pass every grade the first time. I remember first having this conversation with him in first grade, where he started worrying about it early in the year.

The boy that reads at the 11 grade level, the boy that represented this class in the all school spelling bee, the boy that loves math, is the boy that is always surprised and relieved that he passes the grade!

your new Procedure?

The other morning I was getting ready to go the Y.
G was eating his breakfast
As I was tying my shoes
G asked "So mom is going to the Y every morning your new procedure?"
Me ~ "yes, G it is my new procedure"

Where does this boy get his vocabulary!?

The Ambassanadors?

A few weeks ago my boys went to see the Harlem Ambassadors.
The cheaper version of the Harlem Globetrotters.
We didn't tell little G until a couple of hours.
That saves us all alot of drama and grief.
In G's excitement he kept referring them as the Ambassanadors.
We all got a laugh out of him.
