As the usual our Thursday started early! 6:15am out of the house by 6:40 headed for swim team!
I paid my Y bill (swim team for 2 months $100, 5k entry for G and I $50,and the Slim Down challenge $50)! I think we're set now!
I did the elliptical for 60 minutes! Shocker G was done before I was! The night before was the first swim meet so the 'fish' were all tired!
I came home to finish up the clutter exodus, W went to work and took G with him.
I got to the point where it was time to get rid of the many piles .... one to recycling, one to a friend, another to the thrift shop and one to the Post Office.
I picked up G at the pool after 3+ hours of swimming (well, more like 3+ hours of jumping off the diving boards), took him to McDonald's for a 10 piece Chicken Nuggets, a quick trip into the grocery store and then home.
After his shower we noticed just how PINK he was!
Had burritos for supper and called it a night.
Sometime in the night we must have had some wind, when I went out and a couple of my plants had blown over and some of my marigolds had broken off! Nice to sleep through it!

Life on Thursday
I got up early, put G on the bus, did some work for Hubby, got ready was out the door by 9:30am.
Stop #1 Took G's forgotten lunch to him,
Stop #2 dropped things off at the Post office, then head to the city.
Stop #3 my new orthopedic doc, who specializes in shoulders! Good news there I just need PT to loosen up some frozen muscles. Loved that!
Stop #4 pick up one of favorite lunches, Pei Wei Spicy chicken salad, yum!
Stop #5 eat my lunch with hubby. I had just finished eating (or should I say struggling to eat .. wait and you'll understand) when my cell phone rang. It was my Stop #6 saying the Dentist could see me earlier! I didn't let the door hit me, I was out of there!
Stop #6 the Dentist. Yesterday I had cracked my tooth (in 3 places mind you!). Not just any tooth, but the tooth that I bite things off with! AND I didn't even crack it on something hard..... A Bagel! Pain Pain Pain all day yesterday, not even to mention the fact that I now had to concentrate on eating in another part of my mouth, that's just too much thinkin' for me to do while I eat! Fortunately, it was just the tooth and not the nerve so I got a lovely temporary crown. Not covered by insurance for $1246 whole other ouch! and I'll be passing the offering plate when we're done. I missed out of the root canal (YAY)! The good thing is that I got it all done today!
Stop #7 Grocery store ~Ok , you know what kind of smile I had but as I was going through the grocery store, I kept thinking that I had a stuffy nose, when I got back to the car I looked in the mirror and saw this!
Stop #9 Church for Cub Scouts (screaming tires into the parking lot 10 minutes late, not really but it sounded good)
Stop #10 Home again, Home again, jiggety jig!
Stop #11 my bed with my head on my pillow! Good night!

Green
I just have to brag about my new find!
It's this power strip that saves you money by turning off your appliances for you!
People, it doesn't get any better than this!
Mine doesn't look just like this one
but I guess there are a few to pick from.

I have one at one of our computers and one at one of our TVs.
I really didn't notice much going on at the tv,
BUT I've so noticed a big changed at our computer.
This is how it works, you plug your computer (or TV) into the Master plug, then all of your accessories (printer, scanner, monitor etc) into the other plugs. When your 'master' appliance (your computer) goes to sleep, then the power strip will turn off all of the other machines. Thus cutting your eclectic intake. Cha Ching! I noticed this at hubby's computer ..... when his laptop powers down, this printer was shut off! BRILLIANT!
When our TV powers down, all the sound system, the gaming systems, etc ~ shut off,
CHA CHING! when someone turns the TV back on, they all come back on.
Now the smart power strips aren't cheap, I paid $40 for my 8 plug ins (I think it was $30 for 6 plug ins) but I can already see how they're going to save me money.
I'm headed to get more.

Unfortunately one of our banks became #20
in the nation of fail this past weekend. (of 2009)
Fortunately it was purchased by another bank immediately.

Over $4 for the first time!
On my way back from soccer camp I stopped to fill up the Yukon and for the first time it was over $4. Not just right at $4 but $4.06. It took $92 to fill up the 'kon. I'd like to tell you that this place wasn't close to home so I won't have to pay this again but it was right on my end of the city. $4 is here but I hope not staying!
UPDATE on Monday ~ that same gas station was down to $4.02 today! I guess I was just lucky to find it so high?

Five fer Friday
#1 ~ When I went into town this morning I was in need of gas. I passed the $3.79 because I thought they were more than the other place in town. I drove to the other place only to find gas at $3.84. I turned around and headed back to $3.79.
#2 ~ G fixed dinner for us. His favorite cocktail meatballs in the crock pot. I wowed my sons with making my own brown sugar! W was impressed and G just kept saying "Mom, if these don't taste the same we'll know it's your brown sugar." O ye of little faith.
#3 ~ I went to the doctor. It's not Meniere's disease , he thinks it could be my thyroid. I'm getting an ultrasound on that that next week.
#4 ~ W took G to the pool this afternoon. Yay for brotherly love!
#5 ~ hubby spent the afternoon in the ER. Long story that had been going on for a week, but the end result is hubby has two blood clots (one a the top of both legs). Nothing to be alarmed about since he has a filter that prevents them from getting to his heart and lungs. After 5 1/2 hours they sent him home with meds to break them up.

Hump day updates
Yea! updates actually on Hump day ~ score one for me!
Oh wait nothing much is happening maybe that's why I can do updates today!
Last Friday's track meet was good ~ W placed 2nd in the triple jump and jumped the long jump to reach 2 foot further than ever. Seems he changed the foot he jumps off of and got great results. He's excited for this week's track meet. It's closer so I'll be able to make it, at least for the triple jump. Field events start at 3:30 and G gets out of school at 3:15 so I miss the long jump.
I finally got our propane bottles filled so let the BBQ-ing begin. Well, it already did begin with KC Strip Steak on Sunday evening and dogs and burgers on Monday! Boy were they good and long over due!
Monday evening G and I worked in the yard, pruning the trees, cleaning up the dead stuff, fertilizing, and putting down some grass seed in the bare spots. All of this in anticipation of the thunderstorm that was suppose to arrive in the night! Well, that thunderstorm did come, waking us up with lighting, thunder and hail but no rain! I've got another chance for rain tonight ~ keeping my fingers crossed.
Last night G and I went to the city for his cub scout shirt. I had been putting that trip off until I had more to do in the city. With the cost of gas ($3.45 per gallon) I wanted to combined trips. We also stopped at the Library and Costco before coming home.
Tonight G and his fellow cub scouts are going to the local community center to watch the dress rehearsal of a play. There are lots of our friends in this play so that should be fun!
See not much going on here but you know that's a good thing!

Mom Taxi up and going......
After a much needed rest the MOM TAXI is on the go again!
Today was the greatly anticipated start of Track season and G's first soccer practice.

I picked G up at school at 3:20 drove 40 minutes to the Track meet. Watched W long jump, he did great but didn't place, left at 5:30 headed back to our town. Got G to his soccer practice, watched, filled up with gas ($3.12), got a text from W that he'd placed 2nd in the triple jump (I missed it!), drove back to the track meet to watch W run in the 4x400 (placed 6th). He seems to do better without me there! Got home at 9:30!

Along with watching my boys doing their favorite things, I got an extra bonus ~ there was a 'sun spot'! It didn't last long but I 'caught it'.
