crunch!

One of those deeply foggy nights last month. The ones where you couldn't really see past your front bumper, W hit a deer. A deer he didn't even see until he hit it. He is safe and sound. He wasn't very far from home so he drove back home with his one eyed blazer. He was really sad as we watching him coming up the drive. The one working light was barely cutting through the fog.
Now the maddening thing about this crunch! Do you see it? There isn't a place to attach a light. We're going to have to fix the entire fender just so we can get a light to stay in there.
OH, well it's just money, right?

Green

I just have to brag about my new find!
It's this power strip that saves you money by turning off your appliances for you!
People, it doesn't get any better than this!
Mine doesn't look just like this one but I guess there are a few to pick from.
I have one at one of our computers and one at one of our TVs.
I really didn't notice much going on at the tv,
BUT I've so noticed a big changed at our computer.
This is how it works, you plug your computer (or TV) into the Master plug, then all of your accessories (printer, scanner, monitor etc) into the other plugs. When your 'master' appliance (your computer) goes to sleep, then the power strip will turn off all of the other machines. Thus cutting your eclectic intake. Cha Ching! I noticed this at hubby's computer ..... when his laptop powers down, this printer was shut off! BRILLIANT!
When our TV powers down, all the sound system, the gaming systems, etc ~ shut off,
CHA CHING! when someone turns the TV back on, they all come back on.
Now the smart power strips aren't cheap, I paid $40 for my 8 plug ins (I think it was $30 for 6 plug ins) but I can already see how they're going to save me money.
I'm headed to get more.

zero balance ....

After working on the checkbooks this morning,
it's now confirmed we're out of money
(OK not totally out but it's the same feeling)
G and I played a game of LIFE.
I made it to Millionaire Estates!
Along the way I cured the common cold,
created a new flavor of ice cream and
was elected President!
Ahhh, I feel so much better now!

balancing the books

It seems that I haven't had time to get all the check books up to date all at once. I was having trouble figuring
Just how can this be?
Last month I didn't even pay all the bills and THAT is not like me at all.
Hubby was also amazed (and sometime not in a very pleasant way) at this lack of balance!
So yesterday I made the goal that today I was going to get all of them done. Once I sat down I knew within a couple of minutes just why I hadn't been able to get them caught up!
G came to tell me something, then something else, then decided that he wanted to play the drums, then had to show me something, then begged me to work the puzzle, then asked me to find his 'kid bopz' cd, then play the drums while he sang along (I at that time told him he had to sing and play in another room ~ any other room). This went on for the entire time I was sitting here.
I was diligent in sticking to the books, but mentally was spent at having all of the above going on around me. I just can't shut it all out. I think it's the same as when I used to talk on the phone, no body wants anything until you sit down to talk, when I'm sitting in front of the computer G thinks I'm not doing anything.
