Monday Ramblings ~ Camera Purge

My camera doesn't talk to my computer!?! Both work great independently of each of they just can't get it together (it's a union thing I'm sure!). Most of the pictures I post here are from my phone, but I do still take pictures with my camera and when I have time I put the memory card in Hubby's laptop, download the pictures then burn a disc and move them in to my computer! Not a horrible process but still a process!

Here are some great shots from the latest Camera Purge ...

G's New Year's Party ~

The boys at Midnight
(Just after their fireworks)
Twister!

Obviously I'm not the only one taking pictures ~

Ya, I created that
or should I say I gave birth to that!
He created THAT!
Outside my Bedroom Window ~

What you can't see is the Cat lurking around the tree!
My animals love me! ~

Last month I was hanging the last set of new curtains in my bedroom. When I started there wasn't anyone outside the window. By the time I finished they were both there, with their tail wagging!

Happy Valentine's Day

G's super cute, clever and fun Valentine's for his class!
I can call them that cuz I didn't think of the idea I stole it from some else's blog!

Resolutions

OK, I've never been big on resolutions if I do them I usually do them later.
I usually think about them through January and implement them Feb 1st!
BUT
since I had to stay up until Midnight last night,
I sat at the computer and worked on some ...

Have Hope
Think to Serve
Know that My Body is a Temple
Simplify
Be comfortable with myself
Be Present
Move forward Eternally
Relax
Be thankful
Show Kindness

Plus to work on some relationships by daily ......
* Doing one kind deed
*Giving one kind touch
*Saying one kind word
......to someone around me

Yawn .....

Why didn't I think about how I'd have to stay up until Midnight if G was going to have a New Year's Eve party?

Yes, G is having a couple of friends over tonight. I'd tried to have a party for him last year but the snow came and got WAAAAaaay to high before I could get things planned.

He's been so excited all day. He even folded 2 baskets of laundry for me just ......well, just because!

We called in pizzas, then left to go get the boys (Mason and Wyatt). Their parents offered to bring them but the excitement was just too much for us to be sitting at home.

They've been playing down stairs. Nerf Wars, Basement Gladiators, ping pong (3 against W)Twister and now Wii fishing!

I'm about to fall asleep and they're all wound up!

side note ... Hubby, is all snug as a bug in bed!?!?!

Life on Thursday ~ Thanksgiving

It was a quiet Thanksgiving morning.

I woke up to 2 pies (pumpkin and pecan) made by W,

5 cup salad made by G

and a salad made by me!

All done the night before

We weren't eating until late so I got to leisurely got to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. It was very chilly! so I found my coziest blanket to snuggle up with. G came in and out to watch but he was more interested in practicing his ping pong game.

I finally stuck the Turkey in the oven at noon, but quickly returned to watching the Dog Show!

Then I taught G how to play CLUE. He hasn't won yet but he loved it!

When the Big kids got here they played games with G while I finished getting things ready.
We finally ate around 5, but quickly returned to playing Clue and ping pong.

I'm thankful for my family.... all of them!

9/11/01

I never turned the TV on in the morning, but that morning I did.
With in minutes they were breaking in with the news that a plane had apparently hit the first tower. That feeling of what a horrible mistake this poor pilot had made, did he have a heart attack?, was he injured? How could someone possibly knowingly hit the World Trade Tower?

Then the realization, as I watched the second plane it, this wasn't an accident.

Then the fear of what was next set in.

This was day I was take W to the lake to fish with his grandpa. There wasn't any music on the radio, when we stopped at Walmart their in store monitors were tuned to the news with a crowd gathered around, hoping to glean some sort of answer as to what was happening.

I remembering telling W he would be safe at the Lake and I would be safe at home, because we lived out in the country away from the crowds of people.

We were safe but the world we lived in was forever changed along with ourselves.

Diorama Labor day!

Yay, we're pros at this Diorama thing, last year we did a climate Diorama. This year (this weekend) we (G) were assigned a water cycle in 3d. G could pick a 3d poster, a mobile or a diorama. He put his plan on paper, and had strong feelings about 3 things, cotton balls for clouds, pipe cleaners at evaporation and blue glitter glue for the water.

We gathered our items from Hobby Lobby Saturday evening. A place you'd swear G had never been, as he found so many things he needed to save his money for and can't wait to go back and buy things! **a $17 bucket of soldiers and a foam sword that he didn't see the price of!

Well, we worked on it yesterday afternoon and then finished it up today. Wanna see?

UPDATE: we, ur G got a 100% on this! we're, hmmm he's very pleased!

Happy 5th of July!

Due to raining cats and dogs last night the 4th of July was canceled at our house. There were tears among the raindrops but everything was made right tonight (among the threat of rain).

There was a quiet passing of the punk this year.

G had been lighting his smoke bombs and parachute men for the past couple of days but tonight he lite his own fountains and barrel fireworks. I stood on the deck while W gave him instructions (what a proud mom I was) and watched him light them and run like the devil! Finally his big brother told him to watch the punk when he ran. That slowed him down a bit!

This was also a year without the "ear muffs" (as G calls them). He's growing up!

Mother's day!

My boys gave me Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

They were gigantic and ever so scrumptious!

I fixed supper, but they cleaned up afterwards and even started the dishwasher!

Merry Christmas

Beautiful artwork by Liz Lemon Swindle

Christmas Eve Family fun!

This morning we had our
Traditional Christmas Eve
family fun.
Family Basketball
at the YMCA

Self Portrait of the event

We really aren't even in height.....

or talent.....

but we had fun!

This little attempt to let G
dunk the ball didn't work out so well.
After this picture, W raised G up,
G grabbed the rim
attempted the dunk but the ball missed.
W then tried to leave G hanging there while W got the ball.
G wanted no part of that .... yelling ensued (or should I say screaming).

sorry, I thought I had it turned, I'll work on this later.

The next attempt wasn't as successful in getting height
seems only 2 of the 3 were on board with the plan!

P.E.O Christmas Party

My best buddy Stephanie belongs to a sorority type of group P.E.O.

They don't invite 'outsiders' to their meetings generally but I was invited to tour the Justice Center (our new Jail house) with them in October. That was interesting and hopefully I won't get the opportunity to 'tour' it again or at least not from the 'Sally'.

Then they invited me to their Christmas dinner at the country club and annual Auction on Tuesday. I was still recovering from Strep Throat, but I went to the dinner thinking that if I needed to go home I could before the auction.

Well, I made it through the dinner and then just went with the flow to the auction. They all make things (food, candy, gloves, dish towel, Christmas decorations) or purchase things to auction off. They have a lady with a great sense of humor doing the auctioning. It was fun, even though I was propped up along the wall, and fading fast. I slipped out after a couple of hours to head to my bed.

I must say I can feel that Stephanie is setting me up to be invited to become a member AND I must also say they need youth! Being with this group makes me feel young! Really really young. They are all super sweet and super funny! my kind of ladies!

12 days of Christmas or maybe the 18 days of Christmas

I had been wanting to build the Christmas excitement for G. I had walked the $1 isles and picked up a few things but I was stuck at how to give them to him.

He answered my dilemma .......

This past Sunday evening (while I was sick) he and his daddy created a mailbox for the purpose of getting mail for his Detective agency (quite another story and it deserves a picture for sure!).

I now have a place to 'deliver' his little gifts.

To see what is being deliver daily go check out G's blog.

Halloween 2009

G's school party was on Friday.
The game was to get a gourd across the finish line BUT you couldn't use your arms below the elbow or your legs below the knees.
Most of the kids used their heads but some of them used their bottoms.
Can you think of another way to move the gourd?

Friday evening we went to the church party, supper, (I took my mom's award winning chili) carnival (I took Brownies on a Stick) and then Trunk 'r Treat.

Saturday was a slow relaxing day until almost 7. G and I took off to town walked around for a 40 minutes gathering as much candy as he could.
It was strange, because Daylight savings hadn't stopped we couldn't leave as early.

G's dad has had the started the tradition that when you get home your sort your candy.
