I have to say that I'm proud of G being healthy, fit and active.
Then G went to
Boy Scout Camp.
Our GPS told us once we got on a our major Prairie Highway that we had 104 miles until we turned. Good we settled in, set the cruise control and DROVE!
his final weight on the dead lift was 445 pounds.
HE SET 3 STATE RECORDS! That boy is a freakish beast!
Oh and there was this .....
I kept thinking that this poor boy had a hole in his singlet
and on his hiney no less!
BUT the front was marked with Georgia, it's a peach!
OK this little prairie town we went to.....
there was just something odd about it. It was super small.
There were 2 choices of eating places, DQ and Pizza Hut.
The School was really old, stone but had an amazing football field and track, there was a modern, state of the art activity center, and when we drove around most of the houses were brand new.
Just how can this be?
I couldn't figure out why or how people were moving in this town. There didn't seem to be any big business to have a town that was growing, thus people having new houses AND the new houses weren't in subdivisions. They just along the old streets with a few older homes sprinkled in.
Something just didn't fit with this town.
As we leaving we stopped at DQ to eat, there was plaque that stated
DQ survived the "prairie town" tornado of 2001.
It all began to make since, everything was about 10 years old! New houses sprinkled in along with older ones, along the old streets... it all made since now.
As we drove home, we once again drove by the alien objects dipping out of the clouds only this time the clouds were higher.
I still can't look at them without having that alien thought come into my mind!
After a long drive back home we got home around 9:20pm. I went to bed and the boys all went out!?!
And Derci Pinto was one of those people for W.
He coached W in Soccer for a year but was apart of his soccer life ever since. Derci encourage W to be his best, drawing more out of W than W thought could.
W spend hours trying to implement the things Derci had taught him, from being a better keeper, to spending hours trying to get a ball to bend just right. Every game the sideline was filled with their names in a strong Brazilian accent. We will never forget our "WHEel"
Derci was respected and loved by all his players.
And now will be greatly missed by his players as well as they parents .....
Derci recently went home to Brazil where he died of Pancreatic cancer.
(and just in case you're keeping track this is the 2nd soccer coach this HS team has loss to Pancreatic Caner.)
He's scrappy and really coming along with his skills!
I then rushed and rushed to be at the regional choir contest this afternoon. Only to get there and learn they didn't sing for another 3 hours! I spent the time just listening to all the other group perform. I've never know the level of talent that W's group has because I've only heard them. After today I can now say, W's group is mighty talented!
Here just listen for yourself!
(W is in the center)
When they were all done I brought W and a friend back early. They were busy criticising their performance, but going by their memory. They were being very negative and just how could they have gotten to go to state with that performance and "did you hear so and so when they did that?" When I asked if they wanted to see their performance, they eagerly took the camera and started to replay ~ they were both very quite until W's friend said, "Wow that's how we're getting to state" Then they talked about how they have never heard themselves as a group, they only hear what they're singing and maybe those right next to them.
Then they listened to the Boy's Choir........
and you can too.......
(W is in the center)
When this was finished ~ W stated "Wow that will get us to state also!"
an interesting side note.... I saw W, looking quite ordinary when I first got there but then didn't see him again until the group walked into perform, where he now has a spiked mohawk!
W loves this picture...
W is #5 and the other boy is about 4 or 5 inches taller than W.
Tanslation the other boy is VERY tall!
This picture was taken by the other boy's grandpa!
* Monday
*I straighten up the house in the morning
*wroted letters to Missionaries
*Met some friends for lunch ...Applebees! Had some Cheese burger sliders and a salad. The
salad was WAY better than the sliders. I'll go with another choice next time.
*I went to a Dentist appointment. Man that Hygienist is wicked with the scrapper!
* W picked up G after school and met me at the dentist office.
*They went in for they'll cleaning and I walked to the county Treasure's office (across the square) Why didn't someone stop me and say ..."hey it's the last week of the month, you realize that you won't be alone?" The lines a fairly short considering. Once I got to the clerk, it took 2 minutes. I walked back and the boys were finished.
*I had 3 cavities (GASP!) and they had none! But I (and only I) get the joy of going back next week and sitting for 80 minutes. reminder to load Ipod with new stuff!
*Then G and went to Piano lessons. They've recently renovated the local community center and it just opened a couple of weeks ago. G's piano lesson switched to there, and the piano is in the beautiful auditorium. Also G likes to play all of his songs fast, I suppose he thinks that it means he knows them!?! His instructor was having to slow him down all night!
*Then rush off to G's make up basketball game. Which started at the same time as the lesson was finished, but we were already in town to it was just a drive across town.'
*going to the dentist always makes me have a headache (from all the scrubbing and scrapping) so when Hubby showed up in the 3rd quarter I left for home and the bottle of tylenol!
*Tuesday
*what a lovely day... I stayed home as much as I could ... I cleaned, I did laundry, I cleaned bathrooms, ....ah it was good! To be home and the sun shining! My favorite.
*Wait I couldn't stay home all day, I had books overdue at the library and money to deposit in the bank! I ran to the town with the library and swung by the bank on my way to get G from school.
*went to the Grocery store, had to pick up some items for a family in the area that were just arriving home from a funeral.
*made it home.. fixed supper, tosadoes! Loved them!
Wednesday .....
*Drop G off at school,
*go get my hair cut and colored. It's cute and the color is just about the same. I thought we were going a little blonder? oh well....
*decorating for the Blue and Gold Round #1 (fix tables), Butcher paper and little flag center pieces. But they need something more....
*come home call about getting some balloons ($1 for each if I get High Flyers! or 50 cents for regular ones.... went with 15 regular balloons)
*eat lunch (can't remember what it was!)
*pay bills
*update computer check book
*shower
*go to G's spelling bee ~ once again he didn't study and makes the spelling bee, but gets out in the first round on the word .... autograph.
*take G with me to the pick up the balloons
*realize that it's our family's week to clean the church and boy does it need it!
*decorate for Blue and Gold round #2 add the balloons, looks good enough.
*G and I run the vacuum in the chapel and take out the bathroom trash before coming home. We'll get the rest later.
*go home and relax for a an hour or two
*pick up some clutter
*go back to the church early so I can get the blank map copies made for the busy work for Blue and Gold (round #3)
*Blue and Gold dinner and ceremony (we have a new cub master and he's not really organized... it showed) the night lasted WAY too late, should have been over 45 minutes earlier! Who knew the balloons would cause such a riot at the end of the night?!?
*got home just in time to read with G
*cleaned up the kitchen
*fall asleep (before hitting the pillow I think)
Thursday ......
*had a meeting at church at 8:15 am until 1pm (at least it didn't last until time to pick up G after school!) finished up that project ... or at least until someone wants things changed!
*I'm here doing Catch up with you!
